What TVET College Courses Does NSFAS Fund
Public TVET institutions offer a wide range of programmes and courses that are created to satisfy the need of businesses for certain, in-demand skills. Short courses last a few hours, whereas longer ones require three years to earn a full diploma.

Students at TVET Colleges Who Qualify for NSFAS Applications
This scholarship programme is only available to citizens of South Africa;
- A student must be enrolled in or planning to enrol in one of South Africa’s fifty (50) public TVET colleges on a PLP, NC(V), or Report 191 curriculum;
- must be in need of financial aid (the NSFAS will decide if a student is eligible for financial aid or not);
- Returning students are required to exhibit established and recognised academic achievement (academically meritorious) in compliance with the Bursary Rules and Guidelines or the College’s advancement policy, whichever is higher;
- Must not be enrolling for a qualification that duplicates previous learning that was state-funded; and
- Applicants will qualify if they fall within the maximum threshold of up to R350,000 of combined gross family income per annum and are admitted/received a firm offer for enrolment in a College.
