Institutions You Can Rewrite Matric

There are several places in South Africa where learners can rewrite matric, including the

Department of Education,

Department of Education

The Second Chance Matric Programme (SCMP), run by the Department of Education, is designed to help students who want to retake or enhance their matric courses. Adults and learners can acquire their Senior Certificate or National Senior Certificate (NSC) through the SCMP.

Adult matric learners above the age of 21 are eligible for the SC, whereas learners under the age of 21 are eligible for the NSC.

Note that learners who are aiming to get their NCS will only be able to rewrite two subjects from the list above.

Matric College

Applying to Matric College is open to anyone over 21 who wants to be eligible for a matric credential. Matric College provides adult matric learners with distance learning courses and is registered with the Department of Higher Education and Training.

Adult matriculators at Matric College have a selection of required and elective disciplines to choose from.

Adult matric are not restricted in the amount of subjects they can write; they are free to select as many subjects as they wish from the following list.

To apply to Matric College, a person must register before to the closing date of registration on January 31, 2024.

Students who want to retake their matriculation online can apply to Elroi Academy’s distance study programme. Elroi Academy is an online distance learning institution that specialises in matric rewrites and offers courses to students in Grades 10 through 12.
