Qualification for TVET Colleges By 2024

TVET colleges provide two different kinds of qualifications:

  • The National Certificate (Vocational), sometimes known as NCV, is a specialised credential that emphasises vocational abilities in a number of sectors. The design of NCV programmes ensures that graduates are prepared for employment by giving them both practical training and theoretical understanding. These credentials cover a broad range of fields, including engineering, hospitality, business, art, and design, among others. For the National Certificate (Vocational), students must have completed at least grade 9, however for NATED courses, Matric is required.
  • National Accredited Technical Education Diploma (NATED) programmes, also referred to as “Report 191” programmes.

Documentation To Support Submission To TVET Colleges

All applicants commencing a new qualification are required to upload the following certified documents:

  • Birth Certificate/Identity Document (Proof of application for new ID/Passport)
  • Certificates/Qualifications
  • Recent Academic results
  • Municipal billing document/other account statements (not older than 3 months)
  • A valid study permit (Foreign national students)
  • The South African Qualification Authority’s (SAQA) Evaluation Certificate (foreign qualifications).
