Requirements For TVET Colleges In 2024

Two distinct categories of qualifications are offered by TVET colleges:

• The National Certificate (Vocational), sometimes known as NCV, is a specialised credential that emphasises vocational abilities in several sectors. The design of NCV programmes ensures that graduates are prepared for employment by giving them both practical training and theoretical understanding. These credentials cover a broad range of fields, including engineering, hospitality, business, art, and design, among others. For the National Certificate (Vocational),
• students must have completed at least grade 9, however for NATED courses, Matric is required.
• National Accredited Technical Education Diploma (NATED) programmes, also referred to as “Report 191” programmes.

Documentation To Support Submission To TVET Colleges

All applicants commencing a new qualification are required to upload the following certified documents:

• Birth Certificate/Identity Document (Proof of application for new ID/Passport)
• Certificates/Qualifications
• Recent Academic results
• Municipal billing document/other account statements (not older than 3 months)
• A valid study permit (Foreign national students)
• The South African Qualification Authority’s (SAQA) Evaluation Certificate (foreign qualifications).

• Supplementary Examinations 13 February – 08 March
• College closes on 20th March

Term 2 (L2, L3 & L4)

Term 2 consists of 44 lecturing days.

• Classes start on 3 April
• Classes end on 14 June
• College closes on 14 June

Term 3 (L2, L3 & L4)

Term 3 consists of 51 lecturing days. There are also 14 days for internal examinations.

• Classes start on 9 July
• Classes end on 20 September
• College closes on 20 September
• Exams Date 14 Days for the Internal Examinations

Term 4 (L2, L3 & L4)

Term 4 consists of 23 lecturing days.
