Do you want to attend TVET college or are you currently enrolled and from a household earning R350 000 or less? When the National Student Financial Scheme distributes funds to eligible students, TVET Colleges are given preference in order to promote the integration of practical vocational skills into the nation’s workforce and economy as a whole. Universities typically receive the majority of NSFAS money for students, but TVET colleges nearly double that amount overall, therefore they are given preference when it comes to bursary distribution. How Much Will NSFAS Pay To TVET College Student

Students will receive these amounts from NSFAS Fun

Accommodation in an urban area is R24,000 per annum
Accommodation in a peri-urban area is R18,900 per annum
Accommodation in a rural area is R15,750 per annum
Transport (up to 40 km from the institution) R7,350 per annum
Transport R7000 per annum
Incidental/personal care allowance R2900 per annum

Who Should Apply For NSFAS Funding

All South African citizens
All SASSA grant recipients qualify for funding
Applicants whose combined household income is not more than R350 000 per annum
The person with a disability: Combined household income must not be more than R600 000 per annum
Students who started studying before 2018 and whose household income is not more than R122 000 per annum.

TVET Colleges NSFAS Qualification Criteria

This scholarship programme is only available to citizens of South Africa;
A student must be enrolled in or planning to enrol in one of South Africa’s fifty (50) public TVET colleges on a PLP, NC(V), or Report 191 curriculum;
must be in need of financial aid (the NSFAS will decide if a student is eligible for financial aid or not);
Returning students are required to exhibit established and recognised academic achievement (academically meritorious) in compliance with the Bursary Rules and Guidelines or the College’s advancement policy, whichever is higher;
The applicant must not be enrolling for a qualification that replicates prior state-funded learning; additionally, the applicant may be eligible if their combined gross family income does not exceed R350,000 annually and they have been accepted into or received a solid offer of enrollment from a college.
