Qualification For TVET Colleges In 2024

TVET colleges provide two different types of qualifications:

  • The National Certificate (Vocational), Occasionally referred to as NCV, this speciality degree highlights practical skills across multiple industries. The way NCV curricula are designed guarantees that graduates have both academic knowledge and practical training, making them ready for the workforce. National Certificate Vocational (NCV)
Term 1 (L2)

Term 1 consists of 48 lecturing days.

  • Classes start on 15 January
  • Classes end on 20 March
  • Supplementary Examinations 13 February – 08 March
  • College closes on 20th March

Term 2 (L2, L3 & L4)

Term 2 consists of 44 lecturing days.

  • Classes start on 3 April
  • Classes end on 14 June
  • College closes on 14 June

Term 3 (L2, L3 & L4)

Term 3 consists of 51 lecturing days. There are also 14 days for internal examinations.

  • Classes start on 9 July
  • Classes end on 20 September
  • College closes on 20 September
  • Exams Date 14 Days for the Internal Examinations

Term 4 (L2, L3 & L4)

Term 4 consists of 23 lecturing days.

  • Classes start on 1 October
  • Classes end on 1 November
  • Exam Dates 28 October – 1 November
  • Life Skills & Computer Literacy (P2) 21 – 27 October
  • College closes on 11 December

  • Classes start on 3 April

  • Exam Dates 20 May – 14 June

Semester 2 Term 3 consists of 47 lecturing days.

Report 191: Natural Science Studies

Trimester 1 (N1, N5, N6)

  • Trimester 1 (N1, N5, N6) consists of 47 lecturing days.
  • Classes start on 15 January
  • Classes end on 20 March
  • Exam Dates 25 March – 19 April
  • College closes on 19 April

Trimester 2

Trimester 2 consists of 45 lecturing days.

  • Classes start on 20 May
  • Classes end on 24 July
  • Exam Dates 25 July – 16 August
  • College closes on 16 August

Trimester 3

Trimester 3 consists of 47 lecturing days.

  • Classes start on 2 September
  • Classes end on 15 November
  • Exam Dates 18 November – 9 December
  • College closes on 11 December

The Internal Examinations may be conducted either in the second or third term, for a maximum of fourteen days for NC(V).
