Apply online at www.nsfas.org.za for NSFAS 2024. October 2023 to January 31, 2024, is when the NSFAS Application for the 2024–2025 Academic intake will be available. The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) encourages all students who wish to apply for financial aid for the 2024–2025 academic year to get ready and confirm their eligibility before completing the application process via the myNSFAS Student Portal. As NSFAS may not accept late submissions for 2024, we strongly advise all applicants to submit their applications as soon as the application window opens and before the deadline.

Applications are being accepted by the NSFAS for the year 2024. Kindly submit a grant proposal by January 31, 2024, for NSFAS. January 31, 2024, is the new deadline for applications for 2024. Your application will not be accepted if it is received after the deadline, so please send it on time!
Applications for NSFAS 2024 Are Open to Who?
To qualify for the National Student Financial Aid Programme, you must meet the following criteria:
- All recipients of SASSA grants
- Email and cell phone numbers are essential.
- possess a valid ID and be a citizen of South Africa.
- Be a first-time entering university or TVET college student
- Household income must not exceed R350,000 per annum
- Must meet the academic requirements for admission to a university or TVET college
- The annual household income of individuals with impairments should not surpass R600,000.

How To Send NSFAS Applications Online 2024
The completion of the following extensive stages is required for the NSFAS application process.
- Go to www.nsfas.org.za, the official NSFAS website, to get started.
- Find and pick the “myNSFAS” option from the menu on the right side of the page.
- Use this link to create your “myNSFAS” account: https://my.nsfas.org.za
- Use your ID number, which doubles as your username, to log in to your account.
- Locate and select the “Apply” tab to start your application after logging in.

Required Documents for 2024 NSFAS Online Applications are
- A certified duplicate of your identification document.
- Certified copy of a letter from SASSA
- Certified copy of the ID document of each household member including parents or legal guardian.
- Certified copy of your latest academic transcript or exam results
If either of your parents is deceased, please provide a certified copy of the death certificate. If your parents are divorced, please provide a certified copy of the divorce decree.

What Is Covered by the NSFAS Bursary 2024
Tuition and certain other study-related costs are covered by the National Student Financial Aid Scheme, NSFAS Funding Bursary for 2024–2025. These costs include:
- Accommodation: NSFAS covers the cost of on-campus or off-campus student housing.
- Textbooks and study materials: NSFAS can provide you with a study allowance to purchase the required textbooks and materials for your course.
- Meals: The NSFAS provides a meal allowance to help cover the cost of food while you are studying.
