Ekurhuleni is one of the 50 public Tvet Colleges in the Gauteng province in South Africa. Within the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality (EMM), there are five towns that are home to Ekurhuleni East TVET College (EEC). These are Daveyton, Brakpan, Kwa-Thema, Springs, and Benoni.
These five communities are home to six different college locations. While the sixth location serves as a Center of Specialization, the other five offer programs mostly related to NCV and Report 191. The campuses that provide NCV and Report 191 programs include Springs Campus, Daveyton Campus, Kwa-Thema Campus, Benoni Campus, and Brakpan Campus. Established in 2015, the Artisan & Skills Development Center is the only Center of Specialization. The location of it is in Springs’ industrial district. The College’s position in the EMM embodies its strength. The population of Ekurhuleni is housed within its 1975 km² total surface area.
