Who Can Apply For Matric Rewrite

The following applicants are eligible to be admitted to the Senior Certificate programme:

• Adult students who are at least 21 years old and who possess:
• a Certificate of General Education and Training (GETC);
• a school report from Grade 9 (formerly known as Standard Seven). declaring they have completed Standard 7 or Grade 9; or
• a recognised equivalent qualification—required to speak two official languages—obtained at NQF Level.
• individuals 21 years of age or older who are pursuing an unfinished Senior Certificate.
• Individuals 21 years of age and above who are pursuing an unfinished National Senior Certificate
• In rare instances, out-of-school adolescents between the ages of 18 and 21 who were unable to finish their education because to circumstances outside of their control—verified by the department head in the Provincial Education Department.
• Adult candidates who are 21 years and older with an incomplete NSC may choose to complete the NSC or convert to the Senior Certificate. Should the candidate choose to convert to the Senior Certificate, they may not revert to the
• NSC and attempt to complete the NSC qualification.
• Adult candidates who have already obtained a qualification but wish to improve their results/status.
