Nsfas Application Dates
The online application dates for the national student financial aid scheme for the 2024 academic year started in the month of September 2023 through to the 31st of January 2024. Therefore we entreat all applicants who want to apply for the fund to start with their application process now before the deadline for the application.
Nsfas Application Eligibility
Applicants who fall within this category can start their application process now.
- Applicants must be South African citizen
- Applicants must have all SASSA grant recipients qualify for funding
- Applicants whose combined household income is not more than R350 000 yearly
- A person with a disability: Combined household income must not be more than R600 000 yearly
- Students who started studying before 2018 and whose household income is not more than R122 000 yearly.

Nsfas Application Requirements
Below are the application requirements or documents applicants must have at hand during their application
- Applicants must provide a certified copy of their South African ID or birth certificate.
- Applicants must provide a certified copy of their parent(s) or guardian(s) ID.
- Applicants must provide proof of income for their parent(s) or guardian(s).
- Applicants must provide their latest academic records.
- Applicants must provide a consent form signed by their parent(s) or guardian(s) for NSFAS to verify income.

- Applicants must click on the myNSFAS tab to create an account
- Applicants must log in to myNSFAS account with their details to begin the process
- Applicants must click on the “Apply” tab and fill out the online form with your information
- Applicants must upload and complete their application with the required supporting documents
- Applicants must submit their application for evaluation.
- Applicants must track their status after receiving an SMS or email message from NSFAS via the myNSFAS portal.
